The expansion joints have the function of absorb thermal expansion or shrinkage of the concrete.
Their implementation is essential for the floors of environments that exceed 40mq surface or 8 m in length.
These are obtained by making a cut of the support layer until the insulation and filling it with plastic material (eg, polyurethane foam).
To avoid localized phenomena of cracking is recommended the realization of contraction joints in correspondence of jambs e thresholds of internal doors: in this case the cut is to be practiced at a depth not exceeding one third of the thickness of the screed paying attention to the placement of the heating tubes.
It 'important that these joints are made when the screed is still plastic and are sealed only after the start of the heating.
The joints can be crossed only by connecting tubes which, at the crossing must be protected with hoses insulating minimum length 0,3 m.
The project provided, must be complete with a diagram showing the position joints.
